Tom Welling

Thomas John Patrick Welling ( born April 26, 1977 in Putnam Valley, New York ) is an American actor.

Life

He was born the son of a senior employee of the automobile company General Motors. He grew up on the locations of his father Hockessin, Delaware and Okemos, Michigan. After graduating from Okemos High School in 1995, he worked as a construction worker, said he still lived with his parents. In 1998 he was discovered by a talent scout as a model for a catalog of goods. Welling moved in 2000 to Los Angeles, where he worked as a photo model, including for Tommy Hilfiger, and worked at the same time tried to start an acting career.

His first major role was a guest appearance on the television series Judging Amy (2001 ), in which he portrayed romantic for six episodes Amy Brenne Mans lovers Rob Melzer.

His breakthrough had Welling as Clark Kent in the hit U.S. series Smallville, in which he plays the youthful Superman, who is struggling with his increasingly strong forces. For this role across the U.S. was looking for a young and fresh face. Welling initially refused twice from, then eventually took on and through this series was a star. For the filming of Smallville, he moved to Vancouver.

From July 2002 until the end of October 2013 he was married to Jamie A. White.

Wellings standard German dubbing voice is Timmo Niesner.

Welling has Irish, German and Native American ancestors.
