Tomáš Čermák

Tomáš Cermak ( born February 8, 1943 in Ostrava ) is a Czech engineering scientist at the Technical University of Ostrava.

Life

Tomáš Cermak studied from 1959 to 1964 electrical engineering at the Technical University of Brno. After graduating, he worked as an electrical engineer at the Klement Gottwald iron works in Vitkovice. From 1968 to 1981 he was a research assistant at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the Technical University of Ostrava; at the Brno University of Technology in 1974 he received his doctorate. In 1981 he became an assistant professor of electrical engineering at the Technical University of Ostrava. From 1977 to 1985 Cermak was deputy. Director of Studies at the Department of Electrical Machines and drives; from 1985 to 1990 whose program director and deputy. Dean.

In 1991 he was appointed full professor. From 1990 to 1997 he was Rector of the Technical University of Ostrava from 1997 to 2003 he was the Vice Chancellor for Research and Development and International. From 2003 to 2010 Tomas Cermak was once rector of the Technical University of Ostrava. He was followed in February 2010 Ivo Vondrák.

Work

Was Cermak and is involved in numerous national and international committees, such as vice president of the Czech University Conference, a member of the General Assembly of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic (AV ČR ) and founding member of the Czech Engineering Academy ( IACR ) and the International Centre for Eyecare Education ( ICEE ). He is also in advisory positions at the Czech Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports and the Economic and Industry Ministry.

He is a board member of Vesuvius ( formerly Hinckley ) Slavia Group and Ozobel

Cermak has published nine books and numerous professional scientific work and publications.
