White Tie- Glühkohlen Anemonefish (Amphiprion frenatus )

The White Tie- Glühkohlen Anemonefish (Amphiprion frenatus ), also called Red anemone fish, is a fish species of the family Pomacentridae. He lives in the coral reefs along the coasts of western Indonesia, the Philippines, South China Sea, the Gulf of Thailand, on the coast of southern Taiwan and Japan in water depths ranging from one to 12 meters.

Features

The body and fins of the fish are red, orange for juveniles and the smaller males, with the females bright red. The flanks of the females are mostly black above. A wide, white horizontal stripe runs directly behind the eye on the head. Juveniles have a second white horizontal stripe in the middle of the body, which disappears when they reach a length of about 30 mm.

The dorsal fin has nine to ten hard and 16 to 18 soft rays, the anal fin two hard - and 13 to 15 soft rays. Amphiprion frenatus is up to 12 to 14 inches long. He has been bred already in the aquarium.

The fish only accept the BTA ( Entacmaea quadricolor ) as a symbiotic partner.
