Tommaso Salvini

Tommaso Salvini ( born January 1, 1829 in Milan, † December 31, 1915 in Florence ) was an Italian actor.

Life

Tommaso Salvini betrayed early talent for the theater. The age of 14 he became a member of FA Bons Theatre Company and joined the ensemble of the famous Gustavo Modena later. Then he was offered a contract with the Compagnia Reale in Naples and from there he was hired by the entrepreneur Luigi Domeniconi, in whose army he played with success at the side of Adelaide Ristori.

After six years he withdrew for a time from the stage to indulge in the study of the classical repertoire. Then a member of the Dondinischen society, Salvini played from 1864 to 1867 with the Florentines and finally placed himself at the head of a suitable force, with which he gave many places guest performances.

Not only in Paris, also in Portugal, Spain, England, yes in North and South America, also in Vienna and Berlin, he appeared with brilliant success. Salvini was perhaps the most important actors of the present and of an almost admirable values internalization of the game. While Ernesto Rossi was a realist, Salvini was an idealist in the highest degree.
