Tommy Hunter

Tommy Hunter, CM, O.Ont ( born March 20, 1937 as Thomas James Hunter in London, Ontario ) is a Canadian country musician, who for nearly three decades the television show The Tommy Hunter Show hosted in 1965.

Tommy Hunter first appeared at the age of fourteen years at the radio station CBC ( Canadian Broadcasting Corporation). He was to remain his whole musical life connected to this station. After several years of restless wandering, he joined in 1956 the TV show Country Hoedown, where he played guitar and later participated as a singer.

From 1962, he had his own radio show broadcast daily Tommy Hunter Show. In 1965, the show was taken over by television, where it was until 1992 each Saturday evening broadcast. With a term of twenty-seven years she was the longest-lived country music television series of all time. It was attended by predominantly Canadian musicians, but there were also guest appearances American Stars.

In addition to his television work Hunter recorded a number of LPs and singles, but they were not very successful. He has also performed at the Grand Ole Opry.
