Tommy Tutone
Tommy Tutone is a Founded in 1978, American pop band that could place in 1982 with " 867-5309/Jenny " a Top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100.
History
The band was founded by vocalist Tommy Heath and guitarist Jim Keller, the original lineup also included bassist Terry Nails and drummer Mickey Shine. There was a high turnover in the latter two positions, Nails played after his departure from the band among other things, Ozzy Osbourne, Shine for Elvis Costello.
In 1980 the band a first moderate success as their first single " Angel Say No" reached the Top 40 on the Billboard charts. The first album was with position 68 in the album charts also quite successful. The following year, the second single " 867-5309/Jenny " climbed to # 4 on the singles charts and achieved gold status, and the related album reached position 20
The next album, " National Emotion" and the single " Get Around Girl" failed but in 1983 the public taste. The album made it just in the Top 200, the single reached not at the sales charts. In view of failure, the band broke up. Heath revived the band in 1994 and re- published in 1996 and 1998 two more albums, but without commercial success.
