The State University of Architecture and Building Tomsk (Russian Томский Государственный Архитектурно - Строительный Университет ( ТГАСУ ) ) is a technical university in the western Siberian city of Tomsk. It is regarded as one of the leading Bauhochschulen Russia.

History

Tomsk State University of Architecture and Construction was founded in 1952 as the Tomsk Institute of Civil Engineers. The teaching was in the building of the First Siberian college for commerce, created by the Siberian architecture professor Konstantin K. Lygin ( 1854-1932 ). In 1953 it was renamed the Tomsk Institute of Engineering and Construction. 1993 Tomsk was renamed State Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering in the Tomsk State Academy of Architecture and Construction. In 1997, the conversion to the Tomsk State University of Architecture and Construction was carried out.

Organization

Studying at the University in 39 disciplines in the field of architecture and engineering construction about 14,000 students and approximately 4,000 distance students and over 1,500 students in postgraduate training. They are supervised by 400 teachers, 83 professors, and over 1,000 academic staff. Headquartered in Tomsk the college has locations in Streschewoi, Belovo, Leninsk- Kuznetsk, Asino and parabola.

Tomsk State University of Architecture and Construction is a member of international and Russian Institute, the Academy of Engineering Sciences of the Russian Federation, the International Academy of Higher Education, the Russian Academy of Municipal Economy. International university partnerships exist in particular with the Ohio State University, USA, the UK Institution of Civil Engineers, University of Ulsan, South Korea, and the University of Magdeburg.
