Tonči Gabrić

Tonči Gabrić ( born November 11, 1961 in Split, SFR Yugoslavia, now Croatia) is a Croatian goalkeeper coach and former Croatian football goalkeeper.

The father of Drago Gabrić is currently goalkeeping coach at Hajduk Split and Scout in the Croatian national team.

Career as a player

Gabrić began his career in the season 1979/80 at RNK Split in the third Yugoslav league. 1981/82 he had eight inserts for NK Solin in the second division, after his return to Split succeeded there in 1984 as first-choice goalkeeper promotion to the second division of Yugoslavia. In 1985 he moved to Čelik Zenica in the Premier League and brought it in 1985 /86 in 24 appearances.

After his move to Hajduk Split in 1986 he could there not prevail against Zoran Varvodic and played from 1988 to 1991 when Premier League rivals NK Rijeka, where he rose to become the "number one".

During the Croatia war he played in Greece for PAOK Thessaloniki before moving in 1993 to the first Croatian league newly created, initially for one season for NK Pazinka Pazin and 1994-1999 eventually Hajduk Split.

Since the independence of Croatia he was also replacement of Dražen Ladić in the Croatian national team and was in the squad of the European Championship 1996.

Personal
