Tonkatsu
Tonkatsu (豚 カツJapanese, German " pork chop, pork cutlet " ) is a breaded cutlet in Japanese cuisine, which is very similar to the Wiener Schnitzel. It is often sold as teishoku ( selected menu ), the Tonkatsu is cut into bite-sized pieces and served on cabbage strips, including a bowl of rice, miso soup and daikon are served. The tonkatsu eaten with special tonkatsu sauce or soy sauce. A regional variant of Nagoya uses miso sauce and is known as miso katsu.
Tonkatsu is essential ingredient for the court Katsudon, where the tonkatsu is served on a bowl of rice along with undercooked egg.
