Tony Greaves, Baron Greaves

Anthony Robert Greaves, Baron Greaves of Pendle in the county of Lancashire (born 27 July 1942 in Bradford ) is a British politician. He sits for the Liberal Democrats in the House of Lords.

Greaves was born in Bradford, Yorkshire and studied at Hertford College, Oxford, where he graduated with a BA in Geography. After moving to the Northwest, he was over 25 years as a member of the District Assembly of Lancashire and in the municipal councils of Colne and Pendle.

In 2000 he was raised to life peer. It represents a social-liberal policy and was opposed to reform his party, which were introduced by Sir Menzies Campbell and Nick Clegg.

2010 Greaves caught attention when he expressed his frustration at the auction of a prestigious title Lordship of Pendle. Greaves complaints were later found to be justified, when it was announced that the title of Baron Clitheroe heard. He had not been used since World War II, his sale was not authorized by the owner.

Tony Greaves is married and has two daughters.
