Tony Readings

Tony Readings (born 27 November 1975) is an English football coach and former football player and currently coach of the New Zealand women's national team

Career

Readings played as a defender for English clubs AFC Wimbledon and North Shore United.

He was first coach of the New Zealand U-20 women's national team with which he won the U-20 Football Ozeanienmeisterschaft of women in 2010 and took part in the U -20 World Cup in Germany. In summer 2011, he was employed as an assistant coach for the coaching staff of the women's national team at the World Cup in Germany, which was eliminated in the first round. After the change of John Herdman after Canada he took over after the World Cup the head coaching job and qualified his team for the Olympic football tournament in London. There, for the first time New Zealand reached the quarter-finals of the intercontinental tournament, but retired there from against the eventual Olympic champion United States.
