Tony Sharpe

Tony Sharpe ( born June 28, 1961 in Kingston) is a former Canadian track and field athlete.

Sharpe in 1982 Canadian champion in the 100 -meter run and 1984 in the 200 -meter run. As first runner in the 4 x 100 meters relay at the Commonwealth Games in Brisbane in 1982 he won the silver medal along with Ben Johnson, Desai Williams and Mark McKoy. At the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki in 1983 he reached the semi-finals in the 100 meters.

At the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles Sharpe was used in second position in the Canadian squadron. Together with Ben Johnson, Desai Williams and Sterling Hinds, he won the bronze medal behind the teams from the United States and Jamaica. In the 100 - meter race, he finished eighth, while he retired about 200 yards in the quarter- final round.

After the end of his career, Sharpe admits to have doped to his playing days with anabolic steroids.

Tony Sharpe is 1,78 m tall and had a competition weight of 73 kg. He attended Clemson University.
