Toolchain

As toolchain (English for tool chain) is referred to in software development, a systematic collection of tool programs that is used to produce a product (usually another program or system of programs). The name explained by the fact that the tool programs are generally used in the form of a chain of succession.

A simple toolbox for the software development includes a text editor to create the source code, a compiler, a linker to create the executable programs and libraries to access the public routines of the operating system and a debugger. More complex products need to develop it a bigger toolbox, including a program for creating 3D models, graphics, sound effects, music and animations required for a video game.
