Tord Boontje

Tord Boontje ( born October 3, 1968 in Enschede) is a Dutch product designer.

Vita

He studied at the Design Academy Eindhoven and the Royal College in London industrial design. In London 1996, he founded his own design studio with his wife, the British glass artist Emma Woffenden.

Work

Boontje initially became known with the series of vases "Trans Glass" and his Rough -and -Ready furniture, which consisted of bound timber residues and blankets as padding. Around 2000 he turned to the ornate floral ornaments, which have now become his unmistakable trademark. For example, his garland ( ' garland ') in 2002 from laser-cut and etched metal plates.
