Tormod Haugen

Tormod Haugen ( born May 12, 1945 in Trysil, † 18 October 2008) was a Norwegian writer and translator.

Haugen studied German, art history and literature at the University of Oslo. He debuted in 1973 with the children's book Not like last year ( Ikke som i fjor ) and written in the following years, a number of other works that have been translated into 24 languages. In 1990, Haugen was awarded the prestigious Hans Christian Andersen Award for The Night Birds, 1984, he was nominated as the first children's book author for the Literature Prize of the Nordic Council.

Haugen translated from several languages, including the Narnia series by Clive Staples Lewis.
