Geography

Tornau before the heath is between Dessau and Halle ( Saale) on the edge of the Middle Elbe Biosphere Reserve.

History

In the 13th century Tornau was first mentioned before the heath.

On January 1, 2010, the formerly independent communities Tornau closed before the heath, trademark, Retzau, Schierau, Thurland and Altjeßnitz and the cities Jeßnitz (Anhalt) and Raguhn the city Raguhn - Jeßnitz together.
