Torsten Reißmann

Torsten Reißmann ( born February 23, 1956 in Potsdam, † October 8, 2009 in Brandenburg an der Havel ) was a German judoka. The Halbleichtgewichtler was four times GDR champion and won 1975-1982 four European titles in the category up to 65 kg.

Reißmann grew up together with his three brothers and a sister in Potsdam. Post-high school he settled for automotive locksmith train. As a competitive athlete of the ASK Vorwärts Frankfurt the National People's Army, he served with the rank of lieutenant. Later, he was a primary school teacher until he became ill with a nervous disorder in 2001.
