Torta del Casar

Torta del Casar is a Spanish sheep's milk cheese. He comes from the Autonomous Region of Extremadura and is named after the place of origin Casar de Cáceres. Its production is protected by the Designation of Origin (DO) " Torta del Casar ".

The cheese is made exclusively from milk of Merino sheep and Entrefino that is brought with vegetable rennet of wild Gemüseartischocke to clot. Inside the cheese is soft to liquid and of a very intense flavor. In Torta del Casar is a cut to be eaten a hole in the very hard shell and draws the contents with a spoon.
