TortoiseHg

TortoiseHg is a free client for the version management utility Mercurial. It is under the GNU General Public License ( GPL).

TortoiseHg is implemented as a shell extension, it integrates in the Windows Explorer and Gnome / Nautilus and is therefore outside and independently of an Integrated Development Environment ( IDE) used.

As a core task the version, revision and source control is described for the software. In order to simplify Mercurial similar ways under Windows and Linux usable as Subversion, allowed to be inspired and guided by the successful Tortoise plugins for Subversion and CVS, such as the iconset is partly taken from TortoiseSVN.
