Torture Squad

Torture Squad is a Brazilian Death-/Thrashmetal-Band founded in 1990 from Sao Paulo.

Band History

Three years after their inception, the band ( electric bass) and Vitor Rudrigeus committed a professional phase by a line-up they played from the founding members Christiano Fusco ( electric guitar ), Amilcar Christofaro (drums), " Castor " (Hymns ). The band has already toured Brazil and published shortly after the demo " A Soul in Hell". The album, which they brought out was " Shivering ", which they brought out in 1995. In 1999, the band brought out the CD " Asylum of Shadows". Having 2001 "The unholy spell" brought out, they went on the first tour in Germany. 2002 Christiano Fusco left the band. Then Mauricio Nugueira Siess joined the band as the new guitarist. 2003, the band brought out the album " Pandemonium ", which was supported by a TV video clip in Sao Paulo. The band played then again in Brazil. 2006 the band launched a European tour through 16 cities in Germany and 4 cities in Austria. Then Torture Squad toured again by Brazil and shortly after they met the Brazilian pre-selection for the Wacken Open Air festival in Germany, where they turn first time in 2007 took part. Finally, Torture Squad won the final in Sao Paulo. This victory earned them a recording contract with the German label Armageddon Records. The album " Hellbound " was released in May 2008. Shortly thereafter, Mauricio Nugueira left the band for personal reasons. Then came Augusto Lopes as new guitarist. Then Torture Squad went on a 60 - date European tour, where she sang again played at the Wacken Open Air. The year 2009 started quite well for this band. After the release of Hellbound, the band toured Brazil, as well as by the United States and Europe with the well-known thrash metal bands Overkill and Exodus. This tour began in mid-February in London and led for the first time by 12 other countries, including Spain, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Switzerland and the Czech Republic. 2010, the band brought out their album Aequilibrium. In 2011 she appeared for the third time at the Wacken Open Air.
