Toscanelli is an impact crater on the moon northwestern front in the plane of Oceanus Procellarum. It is located southwest of the crater Krieger and north of the large crater Aristarchus rays, at the southern end of a groove of Rimae Aristarchus. South runs north to south the furrow Rupes Toscanelli.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1976 by ​​the Italian physician, mathematician, astronomer and cartographer Paolo dal Pozzo Toscanelli.
