Toshi (musician)

Toshimitsu Deyama, known as Toshi (since 2010 for legal reasons ToshI ) (Japanese出山 利 三Deyama Toshimitsu; born October 10, 1965 in Tateyama, Chiba Prefecture, Japan) is a singer and founding member of the Japanese rock band X Japan. As early as 1992 he launched parallel to its activity in X Japan own solo career, but on which he focused only since X Japan's resolution in 1997 and he again is in the background since the reunion of the band in 2007.

Biography

1992-2006: Solo

Toshi began his solo career in 1992. On February 17, 1997 Toshi married actress Kaori " Wanku " Moritani, which is also active as a singer and model. In June of that year he first saw a concert by Toru " Masaya " Kurabuchi, a musician and chaired by Home of Heart, an organization suspected of it was a new religious sect. Masaya healing music impressed Toshi very much and it was long speculated that friendship with Masaya and the influence of the Home of Heart had induced him to step to leave X Japan. Toshi expressed to the decision to leave X Japan, he had already met in April 1996, because the profit-oriented life as a rock star and it did not emotionally able to meet and that he had wished for a simpler life. The press conference was held on 22 September 1997.

1998 Toshi decided to donate his entire fortune to a charitable organization, part of Masaya. Toshi's older brother, however, who was in charge of its finances, claimed Toshi was brainwashed been subjected, and the case ended up in court.

After X Japan, Toshi dedicated to the healing music that was written by Masaya. He traveled by Japan and other Asian countries and gave acoustic concerts for small audiences under KK Home of Heart (株式会社 ホーム オブ ハート). According to the data of the website he gave over 3000 shows. Since 1994-2004 Toshi released 33 albums and singles.

As of 2004, the Organization Lemuria, which also belongs Masaya and Healing Music operates, was sued for child abuse, Toshi appeared on the witness stand. After the verdict itself Toshi decided to take a break and released no new material until 2008.

2007 -present: reboot

On October 22, 2007 announced their reunion X Japan and sealed it with the release of the new single IV, theme song of the movie Saw IV With the resumption of its activity as a singer with X Japan Toshi also launched his solo career again. On 11 June 2008, the foundation of his new band Toshi with T- Earth was announced. The band consisted of Toshi and Phantasmagorias guitarist in June and Touya guitarist and bassist Ruka from the band Charlotte. As a drummer to Levin alternated from La'cryma Christi and Shinya from Luna Sea. The first album of the band, Earth Spirit, was released on August 8. Toshi with T- Earth called their music eco hard rock, because their motivation was to draw attention to environmental problems. In October of the same year T- Earth gave two concerts in Chile and Brazil. Their second album was Haruka Naru Toki o Koete (遙 か なる 時 を こえ て) was published on 26 November.

In April 2009 it was announced that the 13 -year-old drummer Riku would join the band and that everyone whose concern it is to save the Earth, could apply. In July, guitarist and bassist Ryo came Cain officially added. On 13 August 2009, the second album of the band Honto no Ai (本当 の 愛) was published together with the English version of Truth.

On 18 January 2010 Toshi brought charges against his label KK Home of Heart, in which he accuses of having claimed his entire proceeds of concerts and panels in 12 years, so he had to file for bankruptcy. Toshi Thus separated from the company and from Masaya and the sect. In February, he divorced his wife Kaori Moritani, which is also at "Home of Heart, Ltd.. " was under contract. He explained that he and Kaori are practically never been husband and wife and that he, apart from chance meeting at work knew nothing about them and their lives. Toshi also stated that they have lived together for the past 10 years with Masaya.

On February 8, 2010 was its new website online, at which he announced the publication of a recent mini-album, Samurai Japan on 24 February. Since then, he enrolled ToshI with large I, as the rights to his stage name still be at the Home of Heart. The songs were written exclusively by Toshi himself this time, when importing it supported Pata and Sugizo of X Japan. His last solo concert took place on 24 February, in which X Japan members played as a guest musician instruments. Since then, Toshi focused on his activities with X Japan, including the U.S. tour in 2010 and performed in Europe and the United States, 2011.

On 22 November 2010, a new project has been announced: ToshI feat. Yoshiki. The shows on 24 and 25 January 2011, gourmet dinner shows, in which the guests were French cuisine purposed and enjoy a piano duet of ToshI and Yoshiki (X Japan) came.

Due to the earthquake of 11 March 2011 in the Tōhoku region Toshi played eight concerts in western Japan. Due to the lack of electricity, it was unplugged concerts, where Toshi of X Japan Heath and Luna Sea Shinya and the Orchestra Ensemble Kanazawa was supported. The entire proceeds were donated to the Japanese Red Cross.

On June 22, published in 2011 Toshi the two new singles Hoshizora no Neptune (星空 の ネプチューン) and Haru no Negai (星 春 の 願い) in digital format.

Music

At the beginning of Toshi's solo career in 1992, his music was mainly composed of rock with many ballads. After failing to Home of Heart, Ltd.. changed, he published almost entirely acoustic pieces. Since 1998, wrote the leader of the Home of Heart, Masaya, all of the songs, which they called "healing music". With Toshi with T- Earth Toshi created since 2008 so-called "eco hard rock ", again all the songs were written by Masaya. Published in 2010 ToshI the first time a self- written song, Samurai Japan.
