Toshihide Matsui

Toshihide Matsui (Japanese松井 俊英, Toshihide Matsui, born April 19, 1978 in Osaka ) is a Japanese tennis player.

Life and career

Hailing from Kita- ku, Osaka, he attended the private Shoin High School in Yachiyo, Chiba prefecture. At age 16, he went to Toronto and went to school there. He then attended Brigham Young University - Hawaii.

Toshihide Matsui plays mainly on the ATP Challenger Tour and the ITF Futures Tour.

He has so far been celebrating a single and two doubles victories on the ITF Futures Tour. On the ATP Challenger Tour he won four tournaments in doubles. April 24, 2006, he first broke the top 300 in the world rankings in singles and his highest placement was a 261 rank in June 2006.

Toshihide Matsui played in 2006 for the first time to the Japanese Davis Cup team. To this day, he came to a total of three games to use in which he won both of his singles matches and two of his three doubles matches.
