Japan Davis Cup team

The Japanese Davis Cup team is the national team of Japan tennis. The Davis Cup is the most important competition for national teams in men's tennis, similar to the Fed Cup for the women.


1921 Japan took first at the Davis Cup in part and moved directly to the final. Against the favored Americans the final in New York was, however, clearly lost with 0:5. 1981 Japan moved again for a year in the World Group a, a success that should be repeated until 2012. In the opening round of the Davis Cup in 2012, the team narrowly lost with 2:3 against Croatia.
