Argentina Davis Cup team

The Argentine Davis Cup team is the national team of Argentina Tennis. It is organized by the Asociación Argentina de Tenis. The Davis Cup is the most important competition for national teams in men's tennis, similar to the Fed Cup for the women.

History

Argentina plays since 1923 in the Davis Cup in 1981 and could reach the first final, which was lost to the U.S. team with 1:3. It took 25 years before the team played a final. In 2006, she lost against the Russian team 2:3. Two years later in 2008 they moved again to the final, subject, however, on home soil, the Spanish selection with 1:3. 2011 succeeded the total fourth finals, but Spain retained the upper hand again 3-1.
