Canada Davis Cup team

The Canadian Davis Cup team is the national Tennis Canada. The Davis Cup is the most important competition for national teams in men's tennis, similar to the Fed Cup for the women.

History

1913 Canada took part in the first Davis Cup. In the World Group for the first time the team played in 1991, but lost in the first round against the favorites Spain with 1:4. 1992 was followed by another appearance against Sweden, which was lost in Vancouver with 2:3. 1997 failed the team in qualifying for the World Group of the Slovaks, in 2002 it failed to Brazil with 0:4. Only in 2004 they managed to re- take the plunge into the world group, losing to the Netherlands with 1:4.
