Sweden Davis Cup team

The Swedish Davis Cup team is the national team of Sweden tennis, which represents the country in the Davis Cup. It is organized by the Svenska Tennisförbundet. The Davis Cup is the most important competition for national teams in men's tennis, similar to the Fed Cup for the women. Until now, the Swedish selection win seven times the Davis Cup.

History

Sweden takes part in the Davis Cup since 1925. In 1975 the team their first final, which they won 3-2 against Czechoslovakia. In the 1980s and 1990s, the Swedish selection was one of the dominant teams in the Davis Cup. She was from 1983 to 1998 a total of eleven times in the final. Against the Australian team came to Sweden in 1983 and 1986, but were subject both times. 1984 and 1997, they sat through against the U.S. selection. In Germany, the Swedes met three times in the final. In 1985, she won 3-2, 1988 and 1989 Germany won. The last Triumph celebrated the team in 1998 against Italy.
