Tour de Wallonie
The Tour de Wallonie is a Belgian cycling race.
The first race was an amateur race in the province of Hainaut in 1974. In the following years, the name changed to Tour du Hainaut occidental, Tour du Hainaut, Tour de la Région Wallonne and others. Since 1996 it is called Tour de Wallonie.
The Tour de Wallonie is a stage race is usually held in five stages and takes place in late July annually. Since 2005, one of the race for the UCI Europe Tour and is classified in the highest category 2.HC. The route passes through the Belgian region of Wallonia. The organizer also organizes taking place in September GP de Wallonie. Until now, only one driver, Mario Kummer ( GDR) to decide the race twice for itself.
The only German winner since reunification, in 1996 Thomas Fleischer.
