The Toy Dolls are a punk band from England. They are the first band of fun- punk genre.

History

The Toy Dolls were founded in 1979 in Sunderland. The only remaining founding member Michael " Olga" Algar (vocals and guitar), born on 21 September 1962 at the British South Shields. In the 1980s, they were represented on Gary Bushells Strength Thru Oi compilation! ( Decca Records), even though they fit more in the Funpunk division; yet their concerts are quite frequented by skinheads. Since then, they are also successful internationally and have completed several tours on different continents.

The Toy Dolls playing fast, melodic punk rock - with atypically high for the genre in particular virtuosity of guitar playing by autodidact Algar - coupled with a high, quakendem singing and banal - jocular texts.
