Traditional Anglican Communion

The Traditional Anglican Communion (TAC ) is an international community of currently 14 churches of Anglican tradition, which have separated from the Anglican Communion to the Archbishop of Canterbury. The community was founded by a St. Louis carried out in 1977 under the influence of Louis Falk Congress of over 2000 Anglican bishops, priests and lay people.

Position

The TAC has been taken out of the Anglican Communion, as they did not want to endorse the course set by this adaptation period to the zeitgeist. In the foreground is the rejection of the ordination of women. In addition, it comes to matters of the liturgical reform, the Christian attitude to homosexuality and of the significance of the Church's tradition.

The community was in 2006 at a total of 400,000 members. Current head ( Primate ) of the TAC Archbishop Samuel Prakash in India.

Most members of the TAC are attributable to Anglo - Catholicism. From its liturgy ago the member churches are conservative (see Oxford Movement ). The altars are always faces east on a regular basis. The service is not partially held by the Book of Common Prayer, but according to the 1921 Anglican Missal created that reflects the liturgical use in England before the Reformation ( Sarum rite ).

In 2007 the bishops of the Traditional Anglican Church have recognized the Catechism of the Catholic Church and asked the Pope to producing full communion. The CDF replied in July 2008 that this issue would be seriously considered.
