Trageburg

Upon this rock above the Rappbode once stood the castle carrying

The carrying Castle - formerly Draburg and Drageburg or Dasenburg called - in the resin is a ruined castle at the Rappbodevorsperre near Traut stone in the district of Harz, in Saxony -Anhalt ( Germany ).

Geographical Location

The ruin is located in the Lower Harz Harz nature park / Saxony- Anhalt. It is located about 2 km north of Trautenstein, a district of the Upper Harz at the boulder, which fed on the north bank, among others, the Rappbode and 1961 finished Rappbodevorsperre to about 460 m above sea level. NN. The Rappbode passed the former castle deep down - east of the confluence of the Allerbachs.

History and Description

History is known about the castle wearing hardly anything. In a document of 1654 it is called Draburg. It was used, similar to the Susen castle not far away, for the protection of an old long-distance trade route that led from south to north through the resin. For road system also included the trough Furter bridge.

From the castle are still carrying the castle cone, sparse remains of walls, ditches and banks available. Your location is an ancient monument and is a listed building.
