Tramea carolina

Tramea carolina is a dragonfly species of the genus of the subfamily Tramea Panta Linae. Spread the style is mainly in southern Canada and the eastern parts of the U.S. to Texas.

Construction of Imago

The T. carolina reaches a length of 45 to 54 millimeters, 30 to 36 millimeters of which attributable to the abdomen. Notably, the animal is red. Initially, the face is pale but red with age. The upper part of the head, together with the vertex, on the other hand is metallic purple. The thorax is reddish brown and bears no other markings. The hind wings reach a length 41-46 mm. Furthermore, the rear wing on an almost opaque reddish-brown band that extends to the outer end of the Analschleife. The veins in this area as well as those along the front wing edges are also red. The legs are brown at the base after dark. The abdomen is reddish-brown in young animals, in mature leaves turn bright red. The segments eight and nine are mostly black.
