Trams in Magdeburg

The tram Magdeburg runs on a 60 kilometers long route network in Saxony-Anhalt's state capital Magdeburg. Early 2013 operated on nine lines 94 tram vehicles ( including 11 sidecar ). It is operated tram Magdeburg since 1999 by the Magdeburg Public Transportation GmbH.

History

The tram service was added in 1877 with a horse-drawn tram from Magdeburg Horse Railway Company. 1886 was followed by the first steam railway line of the Magdeburg Tram - Actien Society. The two companies joined together in 1887 under the name of Magdeburg Street Railway Society MSEG. In the following years the route network was expanded. Development since 1989

Rolling stock

Future network development
