Tranekær Municipality

Tranekær Commune was until December 2006 a Danish municipality on the island of Langeland in the former County of Funen. Since January 2007 she has been together with the municipalities Rudkøbing and Sydlangeland part of the newly formed Langeland municipality which covers the entire island of Langeland.

Tranekær municipality was created in the course of administrative reform of 1970 and included the following Sogn:

  • Tranekær Sogn Sogn and Tullebølle (Town Tranekær - Tullebolle )
  • Bøstrup Sogn (Town Bøstrup )
  • Snøde Sogn, Stoense Sogn Sogn and Hov (Town Snøde - Stoense - Hov )

The dolmens and hills of Pæregård are located southwest of Tranekær.
