Transformers: Armada

Transformers: Armada (Japanese超 ロボット 生命 体 トランスフォーマー マイクロン 伝説, Chō Robot Seimeitai Transformers: Micron Densetsu ) is an anime series from 2002, based on the Transformers franchise and was originally designed as an advertising medium for this. The series was later than Transformers: Energon and Transformers: Cybertron continued.

Action

On the planet Cybertron is war. Autobots and Decepticons are for thousands of years at war. They developed a subclass of their species, the Mini-Cons. Originally, these robots were meant to entertain the home planet of the Transformers during the war. But soon it was discovered that a Mini -Con can be connected to a normal Transformer reinforce this around a hundred times. Now Autobots and Decepticons fight for the power of the Mini-Cons.

As Megatron and his Decepticons seem to gain supremacy, help Optimus Prime and the Autobots the Mini-Cons in their flight from Cybertron. However, their ship is attacked while fleeing from the Decepticons and damaged heavily. So they have to flee through a space bridge into the unknown and land far away from Cybertron on a small blue planet. During the landing many Mini-Cons are thrown from the boat. There they fall into a deep sleep and remain for millions of years in this state.

Finally, two boys discover the spaceship of the Mini-Cons and unintentionally send a distress signal to Cybertron, which the Decepticons and Autobots several leads in the shortest possible time to the earth. The war for the Mini-Cons begins now on earth again.

Production and broadcasting in Germany

As a continuation of the series Transformers: Robots in Disquise the series from Japanese animation studio Actas Inc. for the U.S. television was produced. Armada presented a reboot because of the Transformers. Thus a completely new story has been developed which takes place in a kind alternate universe to the original Transformers series.

The first broadcast took place on 23 August 2002 to 12 December 2003 the U.S. instead.

The German station RTL2 beamed the series a single time of 1 December 2003 to 16 January 2004, but there were only 20 episodes, the first 7 and the last 13 broadcast. In the years 2008 and 2009, the German DVD label KSMFilm released all 52 episodes of the series in two DVD box sets. The boxes are 19 additional synchronized episodes and 13 episodes in the U.S. version with German subtitles that were never aired on German television. On March 14, 2011, a DVD box set was released with all 52 episodes.
