Tre'r Ceiri

Tre'r Ceyri is a Hill Fort ( by a ring wall enclosed hillfort ) from the Iron Age in North Wales on the top of the mountain Yr Eifl of the same name. It is located on the Lleyn Peninsula in the west of Snowdonia, north of the road between Llanaelhaearn and Llithfaen.

It lies at an altitude of 485 m and is considered one of the best preserved and most impressive stone Hill forts in Britain. The 2.5 acre site is enclosed by a massive dry stone wall. The original height of the wall was about 4 m. Inside are the remains of mahr than 150 huts. It is believed that the earliest part of the century date 78 AD before the Roman invasion of Wales. Archaeological finds have shown that the Hill fort was abandoned in the 4th century.
