Treasure of Villena

The Tesoro de Villena ( German: Treasure of Villena ) is one of the largest custodian finds of gold objects from the European Bronze Age.

The Fund consists of 59 individual objects made of gold, silver, iron, and amber and have a total weight of around 10 kilograms. 9 of these unique pieces are made of 23.5 carat gold. This makes these prehistoric remains one of the main depot finds in Spain and beyond in Europe.

The treasure of the archaeologist José María Soler (1905-1996) was discovered in December 1963, around 5 km from the Spanish town of Villena. The Fund is the main attraction in the Archaeological Museum in Villena. Was issued to the Fund, among others, in Madrid, Alicante, Tokyo and Kyoto.
