Treaty of Casalanza

The Treaty of Casa Lanza ended the Austro- Neapolitan War, and was signed on May 20, 1815 between the Napoleonic Kingdom of Naples and the Empire of Austria and its allies Britain.

After the decisive defeat at the Battle of Tolentino and the Battle of San Germano of the Napoleonic King of Naples, Joachim Murat had fled to Corsica, after which the following him supreme commander of the Neapolitan army, General Michele Carascosa to petitioned peace. The contract was signed by Pietro Colletta (as represented by General Carascosa ), Adam Albert von Neipperg ( supreme commander of the Austrian troops ) and Lordsburg Hersh ( British representative).

The peace terms were over the defeated Neapolitans not very strict. Allen Neapolitan generals were allowed to retain their rank and also the boundaries of the Kingdom of Naples remained unchanged. Terms of the deal were only the restoration of the rule of Ferdinand I as King of the Two Sicilies, the handing of all prisoners of war and the laying down of arms of all the Neapolitan garrison, except Pescara, Ancona and Gaeta. These three cities were not under control of General Carascosa and were still besieged. All three garrisons finally surrendered, although the Siege of Gaeta still lasted until August, long after Napoleon's defeat at the Battle of Waterloo.
