Trebjesa brewery

The Trebjesa brewery has its headquarters since 1896 in Nikšić, Montenegro and is the only brewery in the country. There are around 250 employees working there. The brewery belongs since 1997 to the InBev group, which merged in 2008 for Anheuser -Busch InBev.

The annual production of the brewery is 0.5 million hectoliters, there are four types of beer brewed in Nikšić:

  • Niksicko pivo ( beer pivo means in Serbian, the beer from Nikšić )
  • Nik Gold (premium beer)
  • Nik Cool (beer with a slightly lower alcohol content, since 2003)
  • Niksicko tamno ( dark beer, since 2002)

The Niksicko pivo has the largest share. This beer and also the Niksicko tamno is also available in bottles and cans from the tap. Nik Gold, Nik Cool, and are only sold in 0.33L glass bottles.

In Montenegro, the beer of the brewery Trebjesa is by far the most popular beer. It is also available in Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Albania and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Small quantities are also exported to the European Union, USA and Australia. For the local market Beck's and Stella Artois is filled into the Trebjesa brewery.

Currently (2009) Anheuser-Busch InBev seeks buyer for the Trebjesa and 10 other breweries to reduce its debt from the acquisition of Anheuser -Busch.
