The Treffauer is 2,304 meters is the third highest peak in the Kaiser mountains in Tyrol.

Location

The Treffauer rises south of the main ridge in front, making it one of the most prominent mountains in the Wilder Kaiser. Somewhat separated from the north Treffauer pulls in west-east direction of the long main ridge between Scheffauer, Sonneck and central to the Kaiser Ellmau maintenance. Upstream of the south is Tuxeck ( 2226 m above sea level. A. ).

Routes

Under mountaineers Treffauer Although regarded as tedious, but rewarding and not particularly difficult tour. Nevertheless alpine experience, good condition, dry conditions and sure-footedness and freedom are necessary. The designated normal route to the Treffauer begins in Scheffau and performs on the hunter host, the Kaiser mountain pasture, the Schneekar and the shady western flank in around four hours to the summit. This route is by far the lightest and unlike the neighboring Ellmau maintenance less demanding. Popular, but not to be underestimated, which exceeded the Tuxeck is followed by a descent to Gruttenhütte.
