Trio Rio was a German pop group.

History

In 1983, the singer Peter Fessler founded (* 1959 ), together with Cläusel Quiet show and Klaus Mages the band. She played mainly jazz standards with Latin American rhythms. Two years later, Oliver Heuss joined the group and changed the concept in a more commercial direction. Now trying to merge South American rhythms, rock and Latin rock. Commercially successful they were, however, only a single title: New York - Rio - Tokyo, which made ​​it as a one- hit wonder in 1986 at # 3 in the German charts. Peter Fessler was first held in this title for the U.S. singer Al Jarreau. Also, the associated album managed to place 23 made ​​it into the charts. However, it could not continue to build on this initial success. Already Voulez Voulez Vous, the second single was a flop. In 1987, Serge Maillard Fessler and Mages replaced. With it, you released the album Voodoo Nights. The breakup of the band was then 1990.

After Trio Rio

  • Peter Fessler published in 1991 his first solo album My Songs! and was released in 1993 with Conquer Me from the album Do not Tell Me (Metronome ) to a first solo success.
