The spiked head grasses ( Triodia ) are a genus of spiny grasses, which includes about 50 species. Some of the species is sometimes placed in its own genus Plectrachne. Sting head grasses cover large parts of the outback in Australia. About 20 % of the continent are covered with it.

The spiked head grasses are also known under the name of Spinifex. But Botanically Spinifex a genus of grasses küstenbewohnenden that is not closely related to the Triodia species of the interior. Spinifex grasses are indigestible for cattle, which is why in the field of dissemination may be made of this genus only extensive grazing, or no livestock.
