Tris (1,3- dichloroisopropyl ) phosphate ( TDCPP ) is a chemical compound selected from the substance group of the phosphoric esters.

Properties

TDCPP is a colorless, odorless and viscous liquid. It is sparingly water, but in alcohols, ketones (such as acetone ) or chlorinated hydrocarbons soluble. At temperatures above about 250 ° C, the compound decomposes, which are free of phosphorus and carbon oxides and chlorine compounds.

Use

TDCPP is used as a flame retardant (e.g. for polyurethane foams, polyisocyanurate foams, and styrene -butadiene rubber mixtures ). It will do everything produced in the order of about 10,000 tonnes per year in the EU.

Safety

In TDCPP in humans cancer is suspected producing effect, as this has been shown in animal experiments.
