History

The bridge served the timber removal. Probably originated the bridge stones from the demolished watchtower of the former Susen castle that stood on a 800 m northeast of the bridge located mountain spur and probably served the bridge protection.

Less than a month before the end of World War II (1939-1945) in Europe was blown up the bridge on 14 April 1945 by the SS. In the same year was a modern bridge of reinforced concrete and wood. This became redundant after the establishment of the dam Chorzów (24 August 1956) was completed, the dam so that is a few meters to the east and below the old, but now washed over by water bridge location. As Bode crossing the crown of the 18.2 m high dam now serves ( 424.9 m above sea level. NN ).
