Trolleybuses in Urgench

The trolley bus operates between Urgench Urgench and Khiva. He has been a cessation of operations in Tashkent on 30 April 2010, the last trolleybus in Uzbekistan. History

On 20 October 1997, the urban trolleybus in Urgench, the capital of the province Xorazm, opens with the line 1 on the route between Aeroport (airport) and Temir Yul Vokzali ( train station). The trolleybus in Urgench was not intended as the only decommissioning should instead nine new trolleybuses to be procured.

The trolleybus line 2 essentially follows the course of the road Urgench - Khiva.

In Urgench the original route ran along the north- south axis of the city with the direction of operation to bypass a park. Today's route continues west and binds to the bus station. Rolling stock

At the opening in 1997 nad Ohri (Czech Republic) were delivered six trolleybuses of the type 14Tr with the numbers 001-006 and three trolleybuses of the more modern version 14TrM with the numbers 007-009 of Škoda Ostrov. The 14TrM differ from the 14Tr primarily by the matrix display on the front. However, this is not used in Urgench to the target display. By 2013, nor were all nine vehicles in stock, then the trolley buses 001, 003 and 005 were retired.

Operation

2010 Monday to Saturday, eight of the nine existing trolleybuses were used, was driven with those on the single line 2 at a distance of about 25 minutes. The journey takes about 80 minutes. Sundays were only seven trolleybuses in operation. As of 2011, the company was reduced, with four to five trolleybuses was about every 45 minutes gone.
