Troy is a song by Sinéad O'Connor that in 1987 appeared as debut single from her first album, The Lion and the Cobra.

Background

In the song Sinéad processed, traumatized her childhood with her mother in Dublin, she has regularly beaten and abused. Her mother died in a car accident when she was 17. The city of Troy ( in English ) is in the song as a metaphor for the fraud of Sinéads mother.
