Trudenstein
The Trude stone resin is a granite rock formation (at about 735 m above sea level. NN ) below the Hohnekamms near Schierke in the district of Harz, in Saxony- Anhalt.
Geographical location
The Trude stone is located in the Upper Harz (Upper Harz) in the Harz National Park. It is located on the southern slope of Hohnekopfs, a wooded foothills of Southeast Hohnekamms ( 900.6 m above sea level. NN ), about 1.3 km east-southeast from the summit of Strawberry head, about 2 km northeast of Schierke and approximately 2 km west of Drei Annen Hohne, both of which belong to Wernigerode. South of the rock is a granite quarry, and extends beyond the Brocken Railway.
Tourism
The Trude Stone is a popular hiking destination and within easy reach of Schierke and Drei Annen Hohne on hiking trails. The summit of the rock formation is accessible via ladders. From there you have a view, among other things towards Schierke, misery and Stöberhai.
The Trude Stone is included as No. 17 in the system of stamp locations of the Harz hiking pin.
History
The name " Trude Stone " derives from the alleged similarity of the rocks with a Drude, an old German word witch -like figure from. 1783 will be over wandered on Trude Stone Johann Wolfgang von Goethe.
