Trusted Execution Technology ( TXT), formerly known as LaGrande Technology, is a key component of Intel's " Safer Computing " initiative. TXT provides hardware technical requirements of a trusted environment.

TXT is that a name of Intel for an extension that is integrated into various newer Intel CPUs. TXT based on a concept of the Trusted Computing Group (TCG, formerly TCPA ), but goes far beyond. So it should not access even the most highly privileged program be allowed more data or code of another application by TXT. But for a TPM chip on the motherboard is additionally necessary.
