Trypillia

Trypillja (Ukrainian Трипілля; Russian Триполье / Tripolje ) is a settlement in the Ukraine in the Kiev Oblast with about 2,800 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2005 ), about 40 kilometers south of Kiev and located near the city Ukrajinka on the Dnieper River.

Trypillja is mainly characterized announced that the remains of a large settlement of the Cucuteni - Trypillja culture were excavated in the late 19th century in their environment. The settlement existed around 4800-4500 BC, was one of about 10,000 to 20,000 people and was for that time a large city.
