Tsarevna ( = Tsarevna, daughter of the Emperor ) was the usual term for the / Russian ( crown ) Princess, since the adoption of the Czar title by Ivan IV the Terrible in 1546. In Russia itself, the / a ( crown ) received Princess the title of Grand Duchess, later one, analogous to the Tsarevich, Tsarevna.
